Solved Only some international calls fail and the only error I can see is "SIP 407 error"

This is strange, I have added my own extension and others to the group allowing calls using 0011 (Australian long distance), and only some numbers fail to work. We get a message "Not answered" and doing packet trace see "SIP 407 error".

I am certain the numbers are correctly formatted as I am able to call them using my mobile phone. Hoping someone can help me. Thanks in advance.

Does the 3CX Activity Log (Verbose), show the calls routing correctly to your provider? Does the number sent look to be in the correct format? Is the provider responding to the call attempt with some sort of error? Do failed calls look any different than calls that complete successfully?

From your description it seems that the calls are sent correctly from the PBX to your provider.
I would suggest that you contact them for further clarification.

Thanks for that. I did reach out to the sip provider and we viewed the capture and it seems the calls that fail don't leave my network. They just display the SIP 407 in the capture and "Not Answered" at the handset. This happens straight away too, it is like it is being instantly rejected.

If the calls are not leaving your network, then, either, 3CX is not sending certain calls, or "something" on your network is blocking the calls.
Did you look at the Activity Log, and compare a working, and a non working call?

Sorry the late reply. I've looked at the Call logs and that is where I also saw for the call, "Not Answered". This log isn't particularly descriptive or helpful. I also took a packet capture and didn't find anything in that which was helpful. Do you know of a way I can get a more verbose log of what is happening when I call the number that fails.

The strange thing is that some international calls work, which means I can rule out the security settings allowing specific extension to make international calls.

Really appreciate any help anyone can give me.

Did you check under security, Allowed country codes? Perhaps the countries you are trying to call are blocked?

You can set the Activity Log to Verbose, for more information about what is happening.
