Is there a way to pass the original caller ID when forwarding calls to mobile? We have sales guys out in the field and it is a pain for them to have to write down phone number from customers in the field just so they can return their call. I know the app can help with this but it is something the old timers don't want to deal with.

Please note that achieving this may require some changes to the outbound parameter although these changes are VoIP provider-specific and if your VoIP provider allows you to send any other caller id than the one assigned to you.

With that in mind, it would be best to contact your VoIP provider and ask them if they allow this. If yes, kindly ask them in what SIP field they expect this information from and then make the appropriate changes in the 3CX Phone System.

Because if these changes are not implemented correctly, they may break the functionality of the PBX, and you will not be able to make outgoing calls. That being said, after confirming with your provider where the changes have to be made in the 3CX Phone System, kindly navigate to 3CX Phone System -> VoIP providers -> Outbound Parameters -> find the SIP field that your VoIP provider has told you they expect the information and change its variable to "OriginatorCallerId Original Caller number will be sent.

Hi @JustinVMMC
If you forward directly to the Sales Person´s Cellphone, all of the above is right, and you should be able to show the Caller´s number on the CellPhone, by using OriginatorCallerId at the Right place (According to the SIP Trunk).

However, if you forward an external call to the Sales Person´s Extension, that again is forwarded to the Sales Person´s Cellphone - then you have to forget to expect to see the "OriginatorCallerId". In best case, you will see the SalesPersons own DID or the Trunknumber.

We have been testing this scenario several times and on several SIP Trunks, as we expected to be able to solve the problem by just finding the "right place" to put the "OriginatorCallerId". We found that if the call was first forwarded to the local extension and Picked up here it show the CallerID, but if this extension forward to the CellPhone, then we lose the CallerID, as it is the local Extension that is taking over the call - and the extension become the Originator.

A simple test, Try making a call from Extension 100 --> Extension 200, make an attended transfer to a third Extension 300. What number do you see and speak with? (yes 200 - )

I would like to be wrong here, and I do hope someone can tell me the right settings in this scenario ;)
