I just upgraded my 3cx system to v18. It works for incoming calls but doesn't work on outbound calls. I get 403 forbidden call failed in my desk phone and with email, i see the error 403 Incorrect Authentication. If i revert back to my old version, it works fine. Any thought?

I would say the error message should highlight the error, username and password on sip trunk incorrect

what sip company are you using

Hi @gryphtech

Who is your provider and what type of authentication do they use? Are they registration based or IP based with authentication for outbound calls?
Because if its registration based then authentication should have failed during registration and appear as unregistered in the management console.

It is registration based. I can see it got registered as well in Console.

Provider is Callcentric

Did you make any changes in the outbound parameters of the trunk? If so then I would recommend re-adding the trunk using the default template.

No, this is what i did:

we had 3cx v15.5 in one of the servers and i wanted to upgrade it to v18. I installed v18 in new server. Took a backup of current system and then restored it to a new one. I turned off old system as well during this.

After restore, my deskphones were not communicating. then i found the default gateway in that phone was old IP address so i updated to the new one and it got registered. I checked in SIP trunks as well and they were registered. then i called in, it worked fine. but every outgoing calls show call failed. then i get an email as well like this:

In that case I would recommend deleting the trunk and re-adding it with the new template. There might be changes in the new template that apply to V18 so that's the first step.
