Hello,

audio quality is good between Webclients or 3CX App clients in Video-Meetings.
But if someone dials in just by pbone, some "Webclient" participants can still be heard OK, but some other speakers can be heard only distorted or "over-steered".

Is there some parameter to tune audio level for callers ?
Where is level normalization done, or is it done anyhow ?

Hi George,

Most of the times this happens is due to transcoding taking place between the Caller and the codecs being used between the PBX and the WebMeeting platform.

We are working on some core changes in V18 that should improve the audio quality quite a bit. Obviously there will still be some variation, I mean if a call is coming in from a provider with G729, there is not way to upscale the audio quality to HD, but the changes will cause the minimum amount of distortion and audio loss possible, and in most cases, mitigate them completely.

Hi George,

we are running into the same issue, can you confirm if there is a "preferred" codec for the dial in users?

I'm hopefully V18 should help with this, but wanted to see if there was any new info, our provider has multiple codec support.
