Hi,
We have messages setup for inbound calls, that play a notification to the caller that the call is being recorded, but we really need the ability to do this for an outbound call as well.

Its actually a legislative requirement in this jurisdiction, so it's important that its done correctly on every call.

Is this something that could be added?

you could ask VoipTools if he got a solution.

Probably @VoIPTools has a solution. If not, the way to do this is using the Call Control API to monitor outbound calls, and barge-in to play a prompt. I'm not sure if you can actually barge-in with an IVR or CFD app to play the prompt. If that's not possible, the only way will be using a normal extension to do it, and use a SIP Client to connect to that extension and play the prompt when it receives a call. There are SIP / RTP toolkits you can use to build this. Programming experience is definitely required though.

We have a new tool (actually the combination of 3 former tools into one new tool). 3CX Audio Announcer, scheduled for release next week, combines 3CX Recording Beep, 3CX Agent Greeting, and 3CX Barge Messages into one tool. The 3 former tools provided similar functionality so we decided to fold them into a single tool.

For your scenario, we can barge in at the start of an outbound call and play a pre-recorded message you create -- perhaps something like "This call may be recorded for training purposes". Alternatively, you could have an agent press a button to play whatever message they choose in the active call. Or, you could have a simple quiet little "beep" play every 15 seconds. We offer a number of ways to play the required message.
