Prefix outgoing rules problem

If you use a '+' as prefix and you change to '00', it doesnt work. Only 1 - 9 is working.
Why? Also if i use '#'. I think this is a big step back in this V20 project.

This really isnt specific to Version 20.

When you have a prefix of +, do you strip the 1 digit before prepending the 00?

This is also dependent on the provider accepting it as 00.

This could also be due to your E164 configuration. Lots of things that are variable here.

The first thing you would need to do is see your event log and see what error message is being given when you dial with the + and 00.

OK.
When i call numbers without '+' before --> works (3cx generated outgoing rule)
When i try with '+' (international number) --> fail (3cx generated outgoing rule)

If i try to call '+41xxxxxxxxx' with the automatic generated or manually created rule --> both fail.
It was working before update 4. There was not limited to a digit on first place in prefix field.
I use a second trunk outgoing rule with prefix '9+' and remove 2 digits and replace with 00 --> works.

I made tests with different PBX's. It works before update 4.
1. I try with a PBX V20 Update 3 --> working
2. Update to V20 Update 4
3. Try again --> fail

The call tells he has no route found.

It's always the same problem, with or without E.164.
Its not a provider (prefered provider) problem, it is a 3CX problem.

OK. Problem found and fixed.
The E.164 setting in Trunk doesnt work really.
Trunk setting removed an d only E.164 setting and it works.

So i think the E.164 setting in Trunk is useless.

The E164 settings in the trunk are for incoming calls to modify the number calling in.



The global E164 settings of the PBX are there to modify an international format number into your local format. Sometimes local providers do not accept local numbers in international format.

So something that might be useless for you because your provider is OK with that, might be helpful for someone in another country because their provider doesnt.

We have to cater for all eventualities.

Lets see an example of E164. (I put Switzerland which is local to you. Everyone else, adjust accordingly to your own countries and regions)



In this example if a user dials someone in Zurich who is in the 043 area code dials +41431234567 the PBX will dial just the number 1234567 which is the local portion of the number.

If they dial 043 the PBX will again just send out 1234567. This is because we have Remove if same country and remove if same area code selected.

Now...

If we dial someone in Zurich in the 044 area code, the PBX will dial 0431234567 because our PBX is configured in the 043 area code.

And just as an FYI, in telephony, the 0 is a NATIONAL PREFIX. It is NOT part of the area code, eventhough over the years it is referred to as part of the area code.
