Hi,

We use several digits for our selecting our outbound routes eg 9 for sales 8 for support which works fine but we have an issue with returning missed inbound calls as we cannot call them directly from the history as they don't have the relevant 8 or 9 at the start of the number.

Is there a way to prepend the 9 or 8 to the start of an inbound callerid so that they can be called directly from the history and will have the correct route (and outbound callid) for Sales and Support ?

Has anyone tried any different solution for this issue, we dont allow outbound dialing with the correct prefix digit so as to ensure the correct outbound callerid is used for the departments.

Regards,
Ger.

There are a few gateways that are capable of adding digits onto incoming numbers, but that doesn't help if you use VoIP. There is an option for modifying incoming caller ID in the (each) trunk section of 3CX.

Silly question, but why don't you have the outbound route based on extension number? so that all the calls from ext 2354 go out route a and all calls from 2365 go out route b?

We cant do that im afraid as we have shared groups with some extensions having to call out with a different callerid depending on what function they are performing.
