presence status

Hello all,
we almost exclusively use the 3CX software on our laptops. This way you can see at a glance which person is present, as it turns grey after the laptop is shut down. However, we have now bought a few hardware phones that staff use in addition to the software. Now, unfortunately, these are permanently displayed as green.
Is there any way to make the presence status (green/grey) dependent on the 3CX software and not the hardware phone?

Regarding your question, if the IP Phone is powered on then the presence status of the extension will always be green unless the IP Phone is powered down.
What we can suggest is setting the presence of the extension to Do Not Disturb so the presentation will be shown as red.

Hi,

The IP phones do not support presence, they are always connected and always ready to take calls so this is not possible to change this behavior unless the phone is powered off.

You do have some options though:

1. Probably the best option - You can use Switch status and this will put your entire extension in Do Not Disturb, then automatically put it back to Available based on your office hours


2. You can manually enable DND on demand, but if you forget to disable it then nobody can call you.

3. You can temporarily set status from your avatar to DND, but if you forget to do it you will remain Available (green)
