"Press * for operator" is not working

Hello,

I am using the free hosted SMB version. When a caller is being recorded in the voicemail, a prompt says "press * for operator", and when * is pressed, a moment later, it says "transfer failed".

How to fix that? We have one extension set up as "Receptionist", and I assume that extension is the operator. Or, can we change the prompt so that it won't say "press * for operator"? Can't find it anywhere.

Just use your own voicemail message...

@omsupport you can disable this on the admin console, under System->Voicemail, and disable "Calls transferred from voicemail" will be routed here

It is not the extension voice message like "please leave a message after the beep" or similar. It is when the caller is leaving the message that there's a prompt that says "press # to save the recording, or press * for operator". I suppose I could replace that prompt, but I cannot find where it is in the admin pages.

Also, does the "press * for operator" function not working? Or, require some setups?

On the admin, there is no "System" menu. I tried to look for "Calls transferred from voicemail" and couldn't find it anywhere. I'm using the hosted free SMB version.

This message is coming when you didnt use your own voicemail message. So, just use your own voicemail message.

The operator cannot be used in an SMB system, as it shared.

@TheodorosG_3CX Shouldn't the operator be disabled on SMB so that prompt never plays?

Thank you all for the responses. As "operator" is not available in the SMB version, record an extension's voicemail message is the solution.
