Provisioning multiple ip phones for single extension number

hi all,

is there anyway to get this done? tried adding same model grandstream phone to the same extension, using direct SIP provisioning method. somehow, only 1 of the phone will ring and not all at the same time.

due to some legacy numbers in the office, i'm not able to assign new extension numbers to each and every of the phones. would require multiple phones to ring together at different parts of the building when a call comes in.

ring group won't be able to work as outgoing calls required to be the same extension number as well.
am on 3cx ver. 15.5.1694.0

I don't use Grandstreams however a couple of points to note here:

• 3CX only support Grandstream GXP Series: 1160, 1165, 1400, 1405, 1450, 2100, 2110, 2120, 2124.
• You say direct SIP in your post - do you mean Direct SIP/STUN for remote phones or are these local. The above models are only supported within the local LAN.

There is another post today that has uploaded templates for un-supported models - it may assist:

Also the process has been documented, however the guide is a bit outdated (v14) but may help you understand the process a little better:

Personally though I would always go with a supported/preferred model of phone (Yealinks are my preference) to avoid any headaches.

am using gxp 1628, all the extensions in my environment are provisioned using Direct SIP/STUN since day 1 and working fine. but when i add additional phone to the extension, only the latest added phone will ring...
