Query on 3CX Bridge

Hi,

When using 3cx Bridge, there is a master 3CX and the rest are slave 3CX.

Can I check do all calls from slave 3CX has to go through the Master 3CX ?

For e.g.
For an intercom call from an extension in Slave 3CX 1 to another extension in Slave 3CX 2, does the intercom call
need to go through the Master 3CX ? Can the call go from one slave 3CX to another slave 3CX directly ?

Ans: No, When you make internal call between extension in the same PBX(Master/Slave), it will not go through another PBX.

Can the call go from one slave 3CX to another slave 3CX directly ?
Ans: Yes. If you make call from Slave 3CX extension(Ex: 1xxx) to Master 3CX extension(ex: 2xxx), then this call go through via 3CX Bridge.

I am referring to the above topology. if Slave 1 and Slave 2 are pointing to the same Master, when Extension 100 calls to Extension 200, the call will have to go through the Master. Is that correct ?

If these are 3 3CX PBXs, then Slave 2 could be a master or slave, to Slave 1. In other words, while calls from Slave 1 to Slave 2 would currently have to pass through the Master, it could go direct with a bridge trunk between slave 1 and 2. In that case the trunk could be a master at the slave1 end and also a slave at the slave 2 end, or vice-versa.

Just draw a line between each PBX, that's a bridge trunk, whether it is called a master or a slave, at a PBX, simply depends on how you provision each end. The PBX isn't a slave or master, just the end of the particular bridge trunk.

The setup leejor mentions not only potentially makes it easier to setup but also reduces traffic going through you current Master PBX and provides redundancy as you will have an alternative route between Slave 1 and Slave 2 in the event that the Master PBX is down for any reason.

Do bear in mind that intercom calls are not possible via bridges. However, what you could do, is create a paging groups on the destination PBX, add extensions to them, and call them instead.

for paging groups it is only 1 way communication. if paging groups is used, calling from extension in a 3cx to a paging group in another 3CX using bridge is only 1 way communication. Is my understanding correct ?
