Question about using 3CX client on a different PBX

Hi everyone,

I'm not sure if this is the correct place to ask this or not, is it possible to configure the 3CX 15 client to be used with an Asterisk based PBX and not the 3CX PBX? I was under the impression I could make a config file much like a desk phone, the more research I do the more I think I may have been misinformed. We've been testing version 6 with our system and it doesn't have the features we would need plus some users are reporting random problems.

Quick answer, no it is NOT possible to use a updated 3cx softphone with a 3. Party phonesystem
