Hi - I have some info gaps that I’d like to fill, hoping you all can help. We’re running 3CX v18.0 Update 8 (Build 939), self-hosted with an M365 integration. Still using the Management Console.

Questions:
1) In Settings -> M365, on the Sync tab: If we check the “Sync Microsoft 365 Users with 3CX Extensions” then we see new users / extensions created in the 3CX. We build the users in 3CX so we only want the 3CX to M365 sync to enable SSO for the 3CX Desk App. If we uncheck this option, will the required sync take place? We had a problem with the 3CX Application provisioned in Azure that we think is now fixed. New users weren’t showing “Microsoft 365” in the Users page “Synced with” column. Also, the same users weren’t able to log into the 3CX Desk App with SSO.

2) Once the 3CX to M365 integration is finished and working, is there any dependency on the integration and the Global Admin user ID that provisioned the App in Azure? Reason why I ask is the team member who did the original Azure provisioning left our organization, and we think when we disabled his domain accounts the M365 integration broke until a new Global Admin re-provisioned it.

3) If we still have a provisioning problem after the re-provision we just did, what logs are most useful to troubleshoot? We see some integration messages in the 3CXSystemService.log file but nothing that says sync for a given user failed.

4) Is it correct that the M365 Integration is independent of the Mail Server in Email Settings? Aside from being able to specify the type of Mail Server as “Microsoft 365” in the email settings, this doesn’t depend on the M365 Integration config, right? One of the things we noticed is if we start with a Mail Server setting of “Custom SMTP Server” and then re-provision the M365 integration, the Server Setting changes. Seems strange that this would happen, assuming there’s no dependency between the two.

5) In Settings -> M365, on the Sign-in tab: What’s the purpose in adding Users in the “Administrative Sign-in” section? The description says “Enable users to login as the 3CX Phone System administrator” but even if a User isn’t added here, that user can still log into the MC. Is there really something else that this option controls?

6) In Settings -> M365, on the Sign-in tab: What’s the purpose in adding Users in the “User Sign In” section? The description says “Enable users to login in Web Client and Management Console ("Allow access to 3CX Management Console" should be enabled)” but even if a User isn’t added here, that user can still log into the MC with the right options set in their Group Memberships. Is there really something else that this option controls?
