I think I might know the answer to this already, however, sine you are the experts, I thought I would run this by you. I have an on premise hyper-v vm created on server 2019DC. Catastrophic failure hit the rack in which it was installed in. Suffice it to say, I was able to recover the drives with data using a third party tool. I was able to extract the seemingly intact backup files (1.6GB). Copied them over to the newly created VM (same specs as old). Used latest 3cx installer. copied files into programdata\instance1\ data\backups. Tried to to run the restore process via the web and I get this message " The archive entry was compressed using an unsupported compression method." however, I didn't open the zip files at all. I will say our initial install of 3CX was version 16, but have upgraded to 18 years prior to the catastrophic failure. Is there a way to validate the integrity of the backup zips with some sort of tool, other than the restore process? Is there a way to overcome this error? Right now I'm looking at a rebuild from scratch, though its a small installation, all my other backups are toast as they were involved in the catastrophic failure.

Can open the file and see all the subfolders and XML files in Windows. If not, it's likely the zip is corrupted.

can you unzip successfully the backup?

Im afraid that if the backup is broken you will need to install the system from scratch

I have 7 zip on my server. I opened the zip file just fine. When trying the built in zip process outside of 7zip, there was an error. I tried opening it with 7 zip and it opens without error.

Do all files extract OK from the ZIP?

Yes..all files. As a matter of fact, I see the 3 error locations that is preventing the restore process.
Data error : httpprompts\22Dec21_KeshaunaCHRISTMASMSG.wav
Data error : voicemails\221\vmail_+12022109336_221_20230919143832.wav
Data error : ChatFiles\278ebae134d67e4037fd140734b03aeff1fa4f54193406e83d12990c62a0a0bc

I feel if I can remove these errored files, the restore might actually work. I know we aren't supposed to mess with the zip file, I just figured I might be able to get the system back.

You will likely need to open a ticket with 3CX (your partner can do it for free / $75 if you do it) to ask for their help in fixing the backup file (if they even can). Changing the file will break the checksum and it won't restore.

Whats this Catastrophic failure that resulted in all your backups going? It's very unfortunate that you have no backups but you have to look at the bigger picture here - someone's to blame for data loss..
