The title is slightly ambiguous. My issue is this...
On the Windows softclient, if the user selects an extension in the presence view, they see the options - call extension, leave voicemail, intercom, conference, chat, email.
This is true for extensions that do and don't have voicemail enabled - so when the user selects "leave voicemail" they get a recorded message saying voicemail is disabled. Surely the option should not be offered for extensions where the feature is disabled?
Secondly, 75% of the extensions are SIP handsets which cannot participate in chat. Is there anyway I can mark these extensions as being "chat disabled"?
3cx seems a curious product - we currently use FreePBX and I am evaluating 3cx as a replacement. Despite some things working really well it seems many opportunities are missed in proper integration of the "bespoke" clients that are available in 3cx with the server-side.
I can't seem to find a solution that works for us. If I look at Bria/Asterisk/Openfire, the Bria client has deficiencies... if I look at 3cx, different deficiencies.
