Solved Request for door relay

Hi there!

I have a customer who wants a door relay, but not a door phone / Intercom. He wants only to be able to open and close a garage door from the PBX. The same customer has already two Fanvil i18s Intercom Door phones with cameras. These door phones can trigger the opening of the door and the installation is really nice. But there is a need for a third door, where he needs no bell or intercom device.

Is there a device from Fanvil or other brand that can do that? To act only as a relay?

Do not know of any sip enabled door relays

Why not put a cheapest supported Fanvil intercom inside the garage and connect this to the relay. This way, users will not be able to see the device from, the outside.

As far as supported devices go, something like the Fanvil PA2 could probably do the job.

But it is a multipurpose device and may be a bit overkill just for opening a door

You would have to call it, then send the DTMF like the doorphones.

Alternatively, you might find some other 3rd party solutions that are not SIP-related, just a remote door switch or smart switch.

And as always, read the specs and manual before you buy, to make sure it can do the specific task you need.

Doorphones will normally place a call. You want something that you can call, will answer, then respond to a DTMF signal to operate a relay, then hang up.

Something like this (although a more simple, and less expensive version), that could be connected via an ATA.

Thanks a lot for all the hints. Finally we purchased installed and configured a Fanvil PA2, which does the job perfectly!
