We are setup with Twilio and Simultaneous ring on an on-prem enterprise installation where when an external caller calls an extension the external number is forwarded as the caller ID to the mobile line of the employee. We are able to do this with Twilio as we got the feature enabled to support ID Masking so we can make the forward look like its from the inbound caller. When an internal user calls another extension though (an extension 4 digits), the extension is passed, we used to just have it display the extension on the outbound call until recently where its not supported on most providers "marked as spam", works with some carriers still. So in an attempt to solve this I tried to setup a range for outbound caller ID 1000-9000 in the SIP trunk to replace the outbound ID with a phone number, it works if I reference one extension, if I try the range like 1000-9000 or (1XXX) ect it is not working. The

Any recommendations for handling this? Also I have been trying to find any information on the custom fields for outbound parameters with no luck, would it be possible to set a condition for a outbound parameter with conditions?

Thank you.

Regarding your question, this is related to the extension having the option ring my mobile simultaneously enabled under the forwarding rules, available tab, so when the internal extension is dialed from another internal extension, the call is also forwarded to the mobile number through the VoIP provider, in which the outbound parameters for the SIP filed 'From User Part, is set to the originator caller ID, which means the originator caller ID, in this case, will be the internal extension number and the provider rejects the call.

However, with Twilio, the default settings for the From user part sip field is "OutboundCallerID" Outbound caller id taken from extension settings in management console".

So the question will be, what outbound parameters have you set, I don't see any of the sip fields in the default template settings that are set to Originator caller ID.

You seem to have made some changes to the default values, suggest reverting the changes and checking again.

When we switch to defaults we have the issue of the incoming number not being forwarded to the simultaneous ring number, it shows the extensions outbound number. Yes we enabled the ability to pass through the number on the caller ID record with twilio, we got an exception with their telephony team to be able to do this, so that works using a number. Its when an internal extension calls an extension with simultaneous ring and is rejected due to the extension being sent. We just need to figure out how to make a condition where when an internal extension makes the call it passes a number instead of the extension but we still keep the ability to pass an external number.

The Outbound parameter values set in the trunk are not the default values of this provider's default settings that are set with 'OriginatorCallerID' would be the culprit. We are aware of this, and it is something that we are looking into, but we do not as yet have an ETA on when it will be.

You will need to consider setting the default values of this trunk's outbound parameter settings so as to use this trunk the way that it is tested and is supported to avoid this issue.

On SIP Trunks, Caller ID, under Reformat Incoming or Outgoing Caller, is there a source pattern that can be used to detect a range of extensions? I tested using 1001 for example replacing with a known master number and it solves the issue, but if I try a range like lets say 1000-9000 or 1XXX it is not getting a range to perform this outbound replacement. Is that an expected result? This would ignore outbound calls from full numbers and just handle the extensions.

There are no options for using a range with caller ID reforming I'm afraid.

Update your SIPtrunk > SIPField: From: UserPart to "OriginatorCallerID"OrignalCaller number will be sent.

Make sure you have Outbound Caller ID configured per extension.
