Backgound on my issue:
I am using the 3CX softphone for all user connectivity.
I have 3 extensions setup for a single user with each extension having a unique DID with inbound and outbound rules which work great. This allows the user to be able to call out from a unique DID and have people return calls to that DID and get a specific VM for that DID/extension.
We wanted a way to have the user be able to answer an incoming call to any of the 3 extension even if they were not registered to the extension in the softphone from any of the 3 extensions with DID's so we setup a 4th extension and enabled "Ring my mobile simultaneously" and entered the 4th extensions 3 digit extension in the proper field.
What happens is if the DID routed extension the call is coming in on is not registered and the user is not registered on the 4th extension then the call rings once and is dropped and does not go to the DID routed extensions voicemail like expected.
From activity log:
Leg L:40.1[Extn:001] is terminated: Cause: BYE from PBX
Call(C:40): Normal call termination. Call originator: Extn:001. Reason: Not available
Call(C:40): Target is not registered: Extn:006
How can I use an extension in the Ring my Mobile without dropping calls and not routing to VM when the extension is not registered?
Is there a better way to do this with a softphone?
