Hi all,

Wondering if anyone has had any experience with the situation I'm in. I'm planning V20 upgrade for my client's 3cx hosted instance, but noticed that their Yealink SIP-T57W is on firmware 96.86.25.3 (still trying to figure out how it even got that version), which Yealink Support pointed out to me that it is a RingCentral firmware. After failing to have it upgrade to latest 3cx firmware, I've gotten with 3cx Support and they informed me to get with Yealink Support and then they had me try updating the firmware to a 'transmit' version 96.86.0.41 but that still fails, and they then pointed me to Verizon/RingCentral, to whom I've never worked with at all.

Anyone had any similar experience?

Thank you,
Michael

Hi Michael!

Same issue here on firmware 96.86.25.3 as well...any luck getting it to work?

Thank you!

EDIT: Found a solution:

Heres the link for recovery firmware for T57W:
https://support.yealink.com/en/portal/knowledge/show?id=612b5fcd8c4dcd0723922195

Remember to flash to USB formatted as FAT32
Use redial button and option 2 to flash from USB

Plenty of videos on Youtube go through the process as well:

Hi,

Didn't see your reply here, but I haven't been able to get through with Yealink Support nor get your method to work, it seems to fail on USB and TFTP with Update Failed (-5) or error out on the TFTP logs with "File too large".

Hoping Yealink has any other options for me here.

I did 9 phones in about a hr w this method on USB.. remember needs to be FAT32. Not sure why it failed by you..

Yes I double checked that I was formatting my USBs with FAT32. Maybe I'll try formatting it without the quick format if that's causing an issue.

I was reading up on that Yealink KB you sent and noted that there should be .rfs or .bin files on the USB...

Did you get it to work with just the .rom files? Or how did you get the .rfs and .bin files?

Yealink Support got back with me and gave me a 96.86.25.7 .rom file and that allowed me to upgrade from 96.86.25.3 to .7 and that allowed the T57W to upgrade to 96.86.0.77 and to latest version 96.86.0.81!

Now I don't have to buy another $319 phone :)
