Good afternoon, folks.

One of the licenses we purchased (standard) has the maintenance expiring. Not interested in renewing maintenance.

- What's the process to roll back from the internal 3CX SMTP Server to another STMP server? Can't seem to find the information online.
- How can I switch to my own FQDN?

From what I'm seeing, it looks like it's now IMPOSSIBLE to own a standard license without maintenance? Would someone please advise if that is the case?

Thanks!

W.

Standard licences are Free to use currently so after a year you will need to upgrade because:

1) You cannot use your own FQDN and SSL certificate with the standard/FREE licence - only 3CX's. If you don't upgrade your maintenance after a year then your FQDN and SSL will die and so will a lot of the functionality of your PBX.

2) You can only use 3CX's SMTP server with the standard/FREE licence.

Please see here as a reference: https://www.3cx.com/ordering/pricing/

Thanks for your kind reply, @eddv123. I have one purchased license before they became free. Do you know if it follows the same rules?

Did you purchase this via 3CX Directly or Distribution ? I would contac 3CX Sales and see what the status is with that particular key and what options you have.

Hello @wzaatar

Please note that if you had a custom FQDN before the changes in licencing were made then you could retain your custom FQDN and SMTP server. If you were using a 3CX FQDN then you cannot change to a custom FQDN.
Do you have an Annual licence or Perpetual?

If you have an annual licence then once it expires the licence will fall back to 4SC with valid maintenance.
If you have a perpetual licence then you will either need to renew your maintenance or convert the licence to annual. Once you do you will get 1 year free maintenance from the day of conversion. After that the Annual key rules will apply.
