Hi,

We have several DIDs on a same trunk.
For outgoing calls, the user should push 1 for DID 1, 2 for DID 2 …
Quite easy to do so with outgoing rules and multiple trunks with each 1 DID... But here there is 1 trunk with multiple DIDs.
So, is there any way to select the DID that will be used for the outbound call ?

Thanks!
Thomas

DIDs are not the same as , say, PSTN trunks (lines), on a gateway, where your caller ID is determined by which line you call out on.

DID over SIP is strictly an incoming feature. The DID number is sent in the Invite so that you can determine where to direct the call.

When placing outgoing calls, caller ID is determined by a number of factors. First, your provider must allow you to send a number other than the main trunk billing number. If they do, then each extension can have the Caller Id for outside calls filled in with the caller ID number you wish to display for calls from that extension, which i assume will be the DID number. Which trunk channel you call out on, makes no difference.

Depending on which provider you use, you may have to make a change to the outbound options, in the trunk group settings as well.

Thank you Craig. I see this is something many people are waiting for.

Currently the only way to set a outbound caller ID is through extension settings where an outbound caller ID can be set for each user or through the trunk settings. So you either need to use a different extension to select a different outbound caller ID or have multiple trunks each one with a different outbound caller ID.

I encourage you to look at our 3CX Caller ID add-on. It will solve your issue.
