Hi I wonder if someone can help

3cx Version 18.0.1880
cloud hosted on google
all exterior sites have SBC V18.0.27

We have two internet connections at all sites the main internet and a failover. The failover is a secure network where the QOS is controlled by an exterior agency so the phones lose data packets and sound like a mobile in a bad area on occasion but as a backup, we are fine with that.

When our main internet for the phones goes down each site has a Ubiquiti gateway that fails over to wan2 and then moves back to wan1 when the connection is live again.

When it goes back to wan1 the sbc windows machine does show on the pc by doing a whats my ip lookup of the wan1 connection but the SBC software remains on the WAN2 connection we can tell this by 1. the phone call quality 2. the sbc in the 3cx admin sip area is showing the back up fixed IP

If we restart the SBC machine this fixes itself. Is there a way of automating this process so that when wan 1 comes live again the SBC will default back to that

This is Ubiquiti issue, maybe worth posting on their forum to see why the link is not failing back to wan1

Hi sorry maybe I was not clear in my comments but it is defaulting back to wan 1.

Everything else goes back to Wan1 and even the SBC machine itself does as I stated if we do a what my ip in the SBC chrome browser it shows its back on WAN1 however the SBC software does not revert back so the SBC machine is on 1 WAN the SBC software communicating with 3cx server is on WAN2 and will stay there unless we restart the SBC machine or restart the SBC software

I'm gonna have to agree with Saqqara on this one. The fact that you see the WAN 1 IP when you use what'smyip just means that the browser traffic is going through WAN1. The fact that the SBC stays connected to WAN2 just means that your gateway is allowing that traffic and actually routing that traffic via WAN2 so it's definitely something to do with the gateway. I'm not saying that the gateway is not reverting back to WAN1, but the question is, how is it doing that. You would expect that it would start routing all traffic via WAN1 however the fact that the SBC manages to connect via WAN2 is proof that this is not the case.

I think you should indeed look into the gateway's configuration and hopefully figure out what changes are required to get the desired behavior.

The reason you are probably getting the correct ip within Chrome, is that you have started a new internet connection which will use the correct wan.

The sbc has an active internet link on wan2, and will not drop it as the wan link is still active. You need to check the Unifi router configuration to see if you can drop existing internet connections and re-establish them on wan1 when wan1 comes back online. SBC internet connection back to the 3CX server is active all the time

Restarting the SBC, will drop all internet connections from this device and the router will use wan1 as this up and running
