Hello,

we are facing a problem with the scheduled conference invites via email.
Problem: A lot of users cannot open/ see the .ics attachment (Just because lots of webmailers and mobile apps are not supporting this).
Thats a big deal cause they dont know when the conference is about to start.

The easy solution would be to edit the mail template and insert the time there with a variable. Thats the idea...
We tried to use the %%STARTTIME%% variable from the fax section, but this is just in UTC time zone format.
We are located in germany and our timezone is utc+1. This timezone is set in the 3CX system as local time.

You could add "UTC+1" behind the variable, but users wont recognize it.

Is there any way to get the local time into the mail template?

For example:
Is there a different variable with the set local time?
Is there any way to read out the time from the ics file and output it to the mail template?

Thank you for your ideas.

Best regards
sifre

Hi @sifre,

The .ics attachment contains the time at which the meeting starts, and your mail client will convert it to your time in your locale. Therefore it's advised that your users use a mail client that can open and read the contents of the .ics files you generate.

Hello @VasilisV_3CX,

thank you for this information. The problem here are the external webmeeting participants cause you cant control what kind of mail client they are using.
But there should be a possibility to read out the local time in the 3cx right? In the call log etc. there is the local time shown as well?! Or is it converted by the website (webclient, management console)?

The main mail corporate apps and providers support ics rendering, also on the native iOS / Android devices' app.
Sending it as plain "value" will not cater for users clock offset.

The only solution you can use is to write it in your invitation text manually.

We will not provide a variable for this use case.
