We are installing 3CX for a client who has an analog nurse call system.

The operating principle is very simple. The nurse call system is an extension configured on a Grandstream gateway (Extension No. 950), and it dials the room number based on the received alarm (Room Extension Nos. 300 to 400).
We have therefore created virtual extensions 300 to 400 that transfer calls received by extension 950 to a "nurses" call group (Group No. 850).

The problem is that 3CX is natively unable to display the extension that performs the transfer, so the nurses see extension 950 calling and therefore do not see the room number displayed. I believe the only way to solve this problem is to create a CFD script that would replace the name of the initial caller with the name of the extension that performed the transfer.

Having never used CFDs before, this is a good opportunity to get started, but without a solid foundation it's complicated!
Please help me! Thank you!

Why don't you use queues as virtual extensions (300 - 400). This way when the agent receives the call, the queue name is shown. There you can specify a proper name for each room.

And as Queues are system extensions they will not cause an issue with the FUP later on.

Thank you for your reply. Indeed, I had considered that, but since it's not possible to automatically create queues (via a script, for example), I was looking for another way... Thanks again.

Create queues via XAPI?

You can create queues using the XAPI, the Call Control API or a C# script from a CFD app.... I would definitely go that way.

Hello @Chris INDY

my question is: is it important that the nurse call system actually reaches the "nurses" call group and plays audio (because it's a kind of intercom and don't have to interrupt by a queue) or is it enough if the "nurses" call group only sees that a call is coming from a specific number (300-400)?
