Sip trunks connect to 3 SBCs not directly to a provider. they are ip based no authentication. does 3cx have a supported template for ribbon sbc? do they have any supported template for any sbc or is it all providers? What does 3cx recommend you do with this set up? I can't be the only person with SBCs for sip trunks. I used the no auth unsupported template to get trunks to work. I have 3 SBCs with this template i have to add the same DID numbers in all 3 sip trunks and assign the DID to the user 3 times so i can route calls in to the 3CX from either of my sbcs. With a supported template that was built on version 18 ip based that has been upgraded to v20 the trunks work as long as you don't change your public ip. you only have to add the DID on one of the trunks and calls can come in on all 3 of them and are routed to the appropriate destination.

Under each country in the SIP trunk configuration you will find the generic provider template. You can use the IP based one to connect to your SBC.

thanks i already figured that out, what if you upgrade a version 18 system to version 20 and then change the system public ip address. The only way i have figured out to make this work is delete the trunks and rebuild them with the generic ip based template. This requires a lot of programming since i had over 100 DIDs. i imported the DIDs from a text file, it only imported about a 1/4 of them. i had to add the others manually then route them. I also have interoffice routing set up with sbc1 sbc2 then sbc3 as failover routes. how do you set up a DID number to ring in on 3 different sip trunks using the default template.
