This guide will walk you through the steps to configure a Skyetel SIP Trunk with 3CX. It also covers the steps necessary to configure a number for SMS.

Take note of the below special configuration requirements for Skyetel:
  • Enter the main trunk number as E164.
Read the guide.

I seem to have followed all of the steps and my phone is still not working; I am getting the code WebRTC is not registered. How can I fix this?

I have my SIP trunks set up and working for local calls, but need to add one for international using Skyetel. How do I specify their "high cost" IP addresses in the outbound gateway?

An excellent question for Skyetel support.

Allow me to elaborate. I have all the info I need from Skyetel (I think). I'm unsure of how to configure 3CX to route local calls to their local servers and international to their international servers. Do I need a SIP trunk dedicated for international calls so I can route the correct outbound rules there? Can I put multiple entries in the Gateway Hostname field or do I have to add more trunks? I've already tried adding a trunk for international with an outbound rule to it, but I get this error: 503 Service not available - No more gateways. Any ideas? I also get calls that don't match the rule still being routed to the international trunk. What could cause that? I've tried it with and without E164 enabled.

What would be my next steps for troubleshooting?

Thanks.

If you are getting a 503 from Skyetel, only Skyetel can answer that question as to why. And if you have local numbers routing to your international trunk then you have an outbound rule issue you need to troubleshoot by turning up the logs to verbose and looking at why. But as you seem to have figured it out, if you want a different trunk option in the outbound routes then you have to have a different trunk.

I am also working with Skyetel support, but we still haven't gotten it working quite yet.

Quick question: Can I (should I) have multiple trunks using the same Main Trunk No? When I tried that, the inbound calls were going to the wrong trunk. It makes more sense to me to have 1 trunk per number...

Thanks so much for your advice and expertise!

We are using IP Auth. Thanks for the template! I imported it and set up my outbound rule, but now getting:'
Call or Registration to 011448719846441@(Ln.10000@Skyetel (International)) has failed. 52.32.223.28 replied: 403 Not Allowed; from IP:52.32.223.28:5060

I'm afraid I can't provide detailed technical support publicly due to CPNI restrictions - but typically the 403 error is caused by your Caller ID not being configured for international. Please put in a support ticket and we can give you a hand :)

Ok. I put this info in the ticket I already had started. Thanks!

Is MMS supported? When I create an SMS message in the weblicent and attach an image, it sends a txt with the filename as the message. It doesn't actually send the image.
