I understand that full integration of a CRM system is impossible with the SMB FREE product because it doesn't support uploading XML templates.
Notwithstanding that towards the bottom of the Settings tab in the web client is a tab marked Integration. This offers radio buttons for Off, Open Contact in Supported CRM and Open Contact in Custom CRM. Selecting Custom shows a field 'Open Contact URL' with an example. Beyond this example there is no documentation on what could be put in the URL other than the defined variables you can use. For instance I would like to use a port other than the standard but don't know if this is possible.
Worse than this is that anything entered is not saved. There is no save button on the page and it seems that overnight the setting is always reset. (I wonder if this is because we're only on the free product.)
Has anyone any experience of using this feature, and what might be used in the URL field?
Thank you in advance to anyone who can help.

The Web Client automatically saves the values you set.

The "Open Contact in Custom CRM" option will let you specify an URL, which will be launched in a new browser tab when the extension receives an inbound call. The only parameter you have is the caller's number, which can be included as part of the URL to perform a contact lookup by number. If you need a custom port, you can use the :PORT syntax, i.e. "https://crm.example.com:port/path". Please note that you can only perform a GET request here, as it will be triggered by the browser in a new tab.

Thanks for your reply. It is good to confirm that the port syntax you outline is available; although you do seem to have been hijacked by an emoji! A GET is all I need so no problem there. You imply that this setting is per user, is that true?
I am still bothered by your statement about automatic saving however. I just checked and the CRM integration is set back to Off. I have had to re-enter my URL. It does seem that it is reset overnight; I can check throughout the day and everything's OK but next morning, gone.

Settings do auto-save. Maybe your browser is resetting data or clearing site data daily? The local storage is used to store those options.

And yes, it's per user and even per device.

I understand now. When I set my browser to not delete cookies on closure for the site the setting is retained. Does this mean a lot of the settings for a PBX hosted in the 3CX cloud are stored as cookies in a browser? That must mean for the CRM - and potentially other - functionality to work there must be a browser somewhere connected permanently. That doesn't seem to be a robust solution. This is perhaps because we're only using the free product.

1. 3CX stores them as localStorage, not cookies. But if your browser cleans those upon exit, you'll lose all the Webclient settings you set.

2. You're using the free cloud version, yes it's limited and the "integration" you're trying to use is just an URL opener, nothing more. Not really an "integration" per-se. For more robust integrations, you need a dedicated system.
