I have a customer who wants to use 3cx to text all of his employees status updates during the day, problem is 3cx will only allow one text per person at a time, any thoughts on a better solution? I am aware of the new US A2P laws, but this customer is not using messaging for marketing. Is there a free SMS app that works with a SIP provider that can do distribution texts to teams of employees?

Who's your SIP provider? They all have APIs that you could interface with directly.

I have accounts with Skyetel, Voxtelesys and Flowroute, all charge at least 0.005 per text message sent and my customer will be sending about 5000 text messages a day to its employees this solution becomes very costly per month. The 3rd party voip providers that are really cheap for sms say I need a client to run their sms and all the pc sms clients I have found are fairly expensive per month. Thoughts?

SMS are by design one-to-one. When you create a group chat on a cellphone, it just sends many SMSs as once. Therefore, this is to be expected.

Why would they need to send 5K SMS a day to employees? That's a lot of messages and carriers would most likely not like it. You would be better off building a dummy iOS/Android app that can receive Push notifications and use a web interface to send those Push through.

It's a trucking company, they have 400 independent drivers who own their own phones and don't want to have to add an app to their phone. They are using ringcentral right now and it works through ring central but it's costing them 3000 a month to do it. I am just trying to save this customer money

I'm sorry to say that there's no other way. It's either costly SMS or an app.

If they have Whatsapp or something like that already, maybe check out their APIs.

Hey @dapdacompx,
Is that 5K sent messages a day or 5K inbound and outbound? When you apply for your TCR campaign you will likely get the 2k messages outbound a day limit. That is for local numbers, toll free will get more capacity but is more $.

We have customers using our SMS service with Zapier's API integration, downside is that you are unable to see the outbound messages in 3CX. If you want to send me a DM we can email to go over some options and pricing.
