Hey all, hope you're well.
I have a couple of SNOM D715 handsets and have managed to get them to provision.
Everything seems to work fine except the function keys on the actual device.

I've set them as a speed dial to other extensions but the settings do not save and I suspect that it gets wiped when the phone auto-provisions via 3CX.
Is there any way for me to prevent this from happening? I am currently using the latest D715 firmware.

Some suggest that I should remove the provisioning link to prevent it from provisioning further.

Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks!

I've attached an image that shows the section I am referring to.
"Dedicated Keys" does not save it's settings.

Why not just define the speed dials in 3CX? Any phone specific configuration from its interface will be overriden by what is in the PBX.

Hey Nicholas.
Thanks for the reply!
I didn't realise that's what BLF was for.
Would this correctly overwrite all the details on the screenshot?
There are 5 dedicated keys, does that mean it will replace all 5 of those or is this just a speed dial in which I have to physically type the extension number to make a call.

The reason I'm configuring this via the SNOM handset UI is so that the dedicated keys work for it.

Please let me know, appreciate it.

  • BLF = Speed Dial an extension and also monitor if the extension is on a call (Busy Lamp Field). Can also be used to pick up a call from the monitored extension when it is ringing and flashing.
  • Speed Dial = Does not monitor the extension, but can be used to dial that extension with just one button press
  • Custom Speed Dial = any number outside the organisation. In my example I added the number to Pizza Hu in Cyprus (no affiliation to Pizza Hut in Cyprus)
This will essentially add this functionality to the phones buttons. So just configure the BLF keys in 3CX from 1-5 and when the phone reprovisions it will take the settings and apply them to the phone.

Hey Nicholas.
That has worked very nicely!
Thanks for that.

I would also like to add that, there's a weird issue in my directory list where the phone is picking up a random contact that doesn't exist and it shows up about 10 times before displaying my actual contacts A-Z.
This happens when I attempt to transfer a call to say - an external number.

Do you have any idea why that might be?

If you have these as contacts the phone would be picking those up.

Thanks for the quick reply.
Indeed, it picks up all the other contacts that are in 3cx but before it displays the contacts, there's a list of contacts that aren't even in the contact list.
I'll try to get a picture shortly

Here is what I'm referring to.

The phone will show any matching numbers that:

- Exist in its call history
- Exist in the phonebook (system extensions + company phonebook)

That's where all those entries are coming from

Hey John, thank you.
The extension numbers are correct, 101 [Griffin]
These are indeed extensions that I've set up.
However, the other name "nick" is not in the directory, nor does it have a number, so I'm not sure where it's populating from.
Hence my confusion.
I've just gone ahead and cleaned up the Phone directory on 3cx - Contacts page to ensure there aren't any weird contacts there.

Also onboard the call history of the Snom like I mentioned. It can match things from there too.

You could always factory reset and reprovision to make sure its clean

I may have to give that a go and see if it helps.
