I have a Snom M300 base with two handsets. Both handsets:
  • are registered against base
  • can make outbound calls
  • are associated with the same 3CX extension number
On inbound calls of any type, only one handset rings (and it is always the same one)

In FXS/DECT I have in the Snom properties I have made sure the extension is listed twice.

Any ideas...? Do I need to put each handset on a different extension and out them in a ring group?

Why would you configure it that way? Yes much better to make a different extension and use a ring group

Thanks for your response.

"Why would you configure it that way?" - Simply because that is the way I thought it could work. This particular handset is for a 75-year-old lady who would prefer not to have to deal with multiple extension numbers.

Thanks for confirming my hunch - I will move forward with that.

More Clarity: 1 Snom Base with 2 DECT handsets for a person on their own in a domestic setting.

Hmm.... **thinking out loud** so now I seem to be in a position where I must setup two extensions for the same person. This seems counter intuitive, unless you can think of a way this can be achieved... is it possible to associate one 3cx user with two extensions without having to set up a new user account?

What is your goal?
having phones ringing all when incoming call ? (if so that's ok with two ext. and a ring group set as ring all)
For outgoing calls there's no problem you can use whatever you want handset.

So what is your fear with using 2 extensions?

Hi,

I added the same extension twice in my FXS DECT page, and provisioned the base with two handsets.

When I called the extension they both rang at the same time. Everything else is default - no changes.

Firmware Version as seen in M300 web UI: IPDECT/05.30/B0002/25-May-2021 14:26

Hope this helps!
