dear friends,

I also have this product Snom M9 but unable to configure it. It is my first time configuring a VOIP.

I would appreciate it if you can help for the following problems.

1. First of all the SNOM control panel has similar settings to 3CX software. Do we have to configure both or just juse the 3CX software?

2. When installing the 3CX software it asks for extension details as you can see in the first screen shot. Are these details suppose to look like this?

3. The ports/trunks status is green, which is also shown in the screenshot. Meaning that the trunk is registered?

4. Extension status is red and not registered, how can I get it to register, I cannot find the steps? I cannot dial out because none of the handsets are registered with the 3CX.

Hi,

1. First of all the SNOM control panel has similar settings to 3CX software. Do we have to configure both or just juse the 3CX software?

You need to configure both so the Snom can find and register with 3CX.

2. When installing the 3CX software it asks for extension details as you can see in the first screen shot. Are these details suppose to look like this?

Yes, everything looks ok.

3. The ports/trunks status is green, which is also shown in the screenshot. Meaning that the trunk is registered?

Yes the trunk is registered - you will also need an inbound rule to pass the incoming call to extension 100 and an outbound rule to make the call on the Spitfire trunk.

4. Extension status is red and not registered, how can I get it to register, I cannot find the steps? I cannot dial out because none of the handsets are registered with the 3CX.

Once the extension logs into the 3CX it will go green but it needs to find the PBX and register the handset. There are tutorials on the 3CX website to assist.

I could not find any tutorials on how I can register the Snom m9 with 3CX. Can you garyjduk or anyone help me compare the details I enter on the SNOM M9 and the 3CX, or show me a guide on how I can register the handsets?

Thank you

I can actually make calls now but cannot receive any. Also the handset is not registered in 3CX so I dont understand how I can make calls?

Have you read the tutorials on the Snom site?

If the handset is not registered in 3CX and you can make a telephone call then you have connected the Snom directly to the Spitfire trunk and are not using the PBX.
You register the Snom to the PBX using the internal IP address of the PBX and then the PBX will make the call to Spitfire. The Snom M9 will have a very similar web interface as the M3 or any of the 320/360's - or at least the terms will be the same. For example when Snom ask for Registrar they are asking for the PBX's IP address and this must include :5060.

From both the Snom M3 config guide and the Snom 320/360 guides you should be able to work out the settings that are required. See links below.
http://www.3cx.com/sip-phones/snom.html
http://www.3cx.com/sip-phones/snom-m3.html

When this is all setup correctly both the extesion and the SIP trunk will be green and when you make a call you will see the extension making a call and also the SIP trunk will show it calling as well. You also must have and Outbound and an Inbound Route configured so the 3CX knows what to do with the call outbound and inbound.
