Hi

I have taken the plunge and have got a spa400 which I want to connect with 3CX v7.1 but I have followed the wiki details and the jaydien details and I can't get any hint that the two are even connecting and failing. The 3CX logs show nothing, have no error that I can report, I would be grateful for your help in this matter.

Many thanks.

Hey someone posted a reply to my query and it has gone missing. I saw it yesterday from home and hence could not act on it, and now that I am back in the office it is not here anymore. I would be grateful if you can put it back. Something about V9.

Currently I am using the free 3CX v7.1 is V9 free also and how do I upgrade, because the intsalled copy tells me it is upto date.

Many thanks

http://www.3cx.com/ip-pbx/downloadlinks.html

here is the link to download Version 9, give that a go and try your setup again.

Good luck!

I have upgraded to v9 and that is working ok. Our android phones can register and we can make and receive calls. Thanks to Sy and others for your help.

However I have diligently followed the wiki screenshots and cannot get my spa400 to register with 3cx.

I have a feeling that I am missing something obvious but cannot figure it out.

The 3cx PBX is on a workgroup computer and has a static ip.

All other ip are served by the win server which is on the domain. the Win server is also the main dns. we can ping the spa400 from the pbx and we have checked all the details and yet cannot make it join 3cx.

I need help.

the rtp port is 10000 do I need to do something with the firewall ie set it to allow port 10000 udp etc?

Haven't used one before, but just wondering, in the SPA400, should the port numbers (20001+)match with the port number in 3CX (10001+).
There is also a Syslog feature in the SPA400. If you set up a PC running syslog ( http://www.kiwisyslog.com/kiwi-syslog-server-overview/ ), and put that IP in the syslog setting in the SPA400, you would know exactly what was happening in the SPA400 when it tried to register. If the 3CX log isn't showing any sign of a registration attempt then I would think it is not even trying, or, it is being sent to an incorrect IP or port, for some reason. The Syslog might clear that up.

Thanks

Then how can I get 3cx to send a registration request to the spa400?

I mean a number of people have got it working. Also do I need to connect spa9000 to the network.

I have even opened our firewall to allow for the rtp port 10000 (i am not even sure if I should have done that) also changed the port range on 3cx but no luck.

Please help.

This the syslog screen. errr What does it mean and how can I use it to get the spa400 working.

Hmmmm...what else does 3CX send registration requests to, rather than wait for a registration?

I suppose you saw this...http://wiki.3cx.com/gateway-configuration/vendor-supported/linksys-spa400

And this might steer you in the right direction, when combined with the above...http://voxilla.com/2006/11/08/using-the-linksys-spa400-with-asterisk-397

If 3CX and the SPA400 are on the same LAN, behind the same router, then you shouldn't have to open up any ports on the firewall/router specificity for the SPA400 unless you are talking about a firewall on the PC running 3CX, is that the case?
