Howdy,

I've jumped across from FreePBX because it's too hard for me to manage multi site on that platform. This is way easier. We only have 8 users, but they all require a desk phone. I've set them all up with the app in the meantime, but I'm having a hard time getting the Configure a Phone to see any options after I enter the MAC Address and click next. The screen is greyed out and there are red lines around Connect via SBC / Router Phone and Select Interface. Local LAN/VPN are greyed out also.

I'm using the hosted free version, but I read that I could still use physical handsets.

I've tried Fanvil and Grandstream, both with latest firmware from 3CX, but just can't seem to get past that screen.

My hope is that I can configure a router phone for each location, but I assume I have to be able to get past this screen first.

Any advice, greatly appreciated.

You need to use an SBC or Routerphone to connect to the cloud pbx. After that you can connect nearly any phone. What phones are you trying to connect, are there any ready to use as Routerphone?

Thanks for the response Bitn2. I have Fanvil X6, Fanvil X4U, Grandstream GRP2601P, Fanvil X1SP and FlyingVoice P23G. There's also a massive box of CISCO phones that I've put away since shutting down freepbx. I thought the X6 and X4 should be ok for router phones, but the install isn't seeing them.

You need to follow the instructions and the phones need to be on the last supported firmware from 3cx. The Fanvil phones X4U-V2 and X6U-V2 are routerphones, are this the phones you have?

Sure is, but I did the firmware updates and followed the prompts, but there's no options after I enter the MAC address and press ok. I was wondering if I should set them up on a temporary local server or if that's a waste of time?

Did you choose the correct phone? This ist the only phone that works.. Not the other X61756710513828.png

Thanks Bitn2, I've double checked and my handsets are only X6U. I'm guessing this means they're no good for server phones. V2 firmware isn't compatible unfortunately.

Correct, thats why i ask to follow the instructions... You can install an sbc somewhere else or buy an routerphone.

Thanks for your help, The page that lists the phones that can be used as router phones includes X6, but when you click on it, it says down the bottom it needs the V2.

I'll try the SBC option. Cheers

Anyway, its the better solution to install the sbc somewhere else.
