Lately, we've experienced some trouble with stun.3cx.com and stun2.3cx.com. When the servers go down or have a hiccup, we obviously need to scramble and find another public STUN for our phones to register via. (all phones are external to the actual 3CX server).

Are the two 3CX Stun servers 'ready for primetime''? That is, are other organizations depending on the availability of those machines for 99.99999% uptime? If not, what stun are you selecting? I have tried to find a decent stun server application that we could host internally, but I haven't found anything that seems simple enough for our use.

Thanks in advance!

How can you use STUN internally if it must be an external service? Good STUN server hosted in data center is always better that home-made one.

Anyway you can use this one for "local" needs http://sourceforge.net/projects/stun/

Hi Ricambi America

Here is the list of stun servers we now use. We mapped our domain
name to there ip address so if one goes down the system will switch
to the other. Each stun server must have two ip's so in our case our
two stun servers have a total of four ips.

Hope this helps you out?

stun1.mwvs.net - west coast seattle - 64.69.76.23/64.69.76.24
stun2.mwvs.net - east coast nyc - 69.90.168.13/69.90.168.14
stun3.mwvs.net - west portland - 70.98.39.60/70.98.39.225
stun4.mwvs.net - germany - 217.10.79.2/217.10.79.3

For now we have not had any problems with our setup & things have been
up/running for two years. We also check from time to time to see if there
are other stun servers out there & we just add them to the mix.

Hi all,

May I know if you use all those public stun server in production use, don't you have any licensing issue?
As I know, most services are free for non-commercial use BUT have another commercial license...

Or anyone can tell me if any public stun server is free for commercial use?

Many thanks.

Why not using the 3CX server as STUN server, from version 11 you can use the 3CX server public IP address, port 5060 (instead of 3478).

Hi,

Not sure if your answer is for my question but still thx.

We are evaluating cost for our project. So, free & public STUN server for commercial use is always our best choice~
Otherwise, maybe we will have our own one.
