3CX 18.0 Update 8 (Build 939)

I am confused which firmware version a T57-W as router phone should have. In the router phone page https://www.3cx.com/sip-phones/yealink-t5-series/ it says it should be 96.86.0.74 but in the MC console it currently complains that this phone runs on an unsupported firmware and it should be updated to 96.86.0.76.

I updated it, only to discover that the user couldn't receive or make phone calls anymore. The phone would not register anymore. So I downgraded it back to the .74 version and it works for now.

There was both a similar question and a similar problem recently. I don't recall the answer to the problem. I would start by upgrading the firmware, then factory reset the phone.

re: version, I believe the answer was that https://www.3cx.com/sip-phones/yealink-t5-series/ lists the minimum required firmware, but .76 is the latest per https://www.3cx.com/docs/phone-firmwares/. I agree that first page isn't clear about that.

(for anyone else seeing this, if your phone is much older, Yealink has intermediate firmware to get from that version to something that can ugprade to .74...go to https://www.yealink.com/en/solution-detail/resource-for-3cx and download "T5X-New-Firmware(Please-read-the-Upgrade-Guide-before-upgrading)")

I finally had time to try this again. Unfortunately even a reset to factory, deleting the router phone and totally re-setting it up again. Did not resolve the issue. The phone is showing up in 3CX but it cannot register. in .74 it worked fine. And now I have the issue that I cannot even go back to .74 because the download for .74 is gone .... Any idea how I can get back to .74?

Just change the version in the link...https://downloads.3cx.com/downloads/v180/templates/firmwareupdates/yealink/T5XW-96.86.0.74.rom (the v180 is the 3CX version)

Just to be clear, if you do it in the order you wrote (reset, delete from 3CX, configure), if the phone got connected to the Internet before being deleted from 3CX it would likely configure itself again.

Thank you for the download link for the .74 firmware.
That worked like charm.

sorry I was not very clear
first I just reset the phone - that didn't help it was not even re-configuring itself
then I installed a very old firmware (but I am sure that was a pre-router phone firmware) and it said "register failed"
then I deleted the phone from 3CX
installed the .76 firmware
and it re-configurd after that firmware was installed
and now I see it like this in the MCM
and the extension won't register

I tried again with the newest firmware 96.98.0.77. only to run in exactly the same issue as with 96.98.0.76.
I am not sure where to go from here. This is the only phone that has this issue (but it is also the only router phone).
and if I cannot upgrade the firmware we are also probably not able to upgrade to V20 so ....

Same. My issue eventually came back after upgrading to .77. I had to deploy a Raspberry Pi as an SBC to fix it.
