With new security procedures in place for UK schools in terms of emergency alerts, we have decided to install handset into every single classroom in a secondary school.

The problem is locking the phones down so that they don’t get abused by students

so we want the phones to be able to have several BLF to go through relevant departments, such as IT support site support and pastoral support

we want to lock down outgoing calls however is it possible that you can put a pin in and then be able to make an outgoing call in case a teacher needs to call a parent

We want to use the phones intercom feature

what other security procedures would you recommend to lockdown these handsets up in order to be suitable for this scenario ?

Hi, you can try hotdesking or use the PIN Protect feature.

With the PIN protect the user will need to dial the PIN Protect IVR, for example if you use 3 digit extensions, dial 777 authenticate with the voicemail PIN then the user can dial the external number.
