Solved Teams for only some extensions

Hello all,

Scenario.

I would like to setup some extensions for users for teams, and some for 3cx. For instance, I would like extension 101 on 3cx and 201 on teams. How do I go about this? Both would have same email?

You cannot do that. The extension on Teams are technically assigned to a 3CX extension, so that scenario is not possible.

Next question. How do I disable users that are enabled currently from using teams for inbound calls, but allow outbound only?

Not sure I understand your question in the 2nd paragraph... Do you need to block inbound calls on Teams-linked extensions?

As for "Teams-only extension", why? The extension HAS to be linked to a 3CX one to allow internal calling because Teams does not have "extensions". It's calling by UPN (email address.) Thus, you need to link them somehow.

I'm curious to know why would that be an issue?

I am not explaining the issue well.

We have used teams to 3cx SBC before (just not direct like this).

Those clients often have a scenario where the "exec" would like to sometimes use teams and sometimes use 3cx. I am trying to figure out a solution with V18 where its possible for that exec to have teams on their mobile for instance, but 3cx in the office. Or vica versa.

Second issue is this:
I just enabled 10 users for teams, with this new integration. How do I now turn OFF teams for just two of them?

you can not do this in an if this then his, it is fully okey for an exec to just use the teams client all the time for calls as long they don't have activity in Queues for example. You can also provision an IP phone to 3CX in his/her office directly on 3CX and in tandem you have the Teams App on the phone. However, it bares the question now if they then need teams calling at all...

To clarify the last point. We have two users that want teams only, and 20 that use 3cx only. How do we remove the users that we configured (all) for teams using the script please?

Remove the “Phone System” addon in Microsoft. This will remove the users in 3CX to be linked to Teams. Why to pay for them in MS when you don’t need to.

You can remove this in teams but the most important is to break the link and “teams” registration in 3CX to not sent calls to teams. And this is determined by the license we see for synced users.
