Hi,

I administer a 3CX telephone system for a small company. I am not very familiar with the 3CX as I inherited the system from the person who set it up. But I can carry out general functions for the upkeep of the system.

My question is this: A department wants to have a message play on their queue when they receive calls. This will run throughout a working day. Can you tell me how I incorporate a wave file to this queue for a specific period? And so that the current time schedule resumes at the end of the day?

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

You could utilise a dummy extension, have your calls come in to this and set the Call Forwarding > Exceptions rules to go to different Queues based on the time of day.

Alternatively, you would need to use the Call Flow Designer to create this.

Perhaps this is a even more basic question. Normally you only route calls to a queue during business hours. Business hours are typically defined at the department level. Route calls to the queue during business hours and to an IVR that says "Our offices are closed" outside of business hours. Then configure the queue with an "intro prompt". It is a setting configured in the same place where you define the queue features. Does that meet your needs, or are you needing to do something more complicated?
