Hello,

We would like to announce that the call is being recorded for all outgoing and incoming calls. Based on our research, it seems to be a bit convoluted. Some threads suggest call flow designer, while some suggest the API. Has anyone successfully rolled this out?

Thanks in advance!

For inbound calls, you could route calls to a CFD App to play the prompt and then transfer the call to the next destination.

For outbound calls, you can't intercept outbound calls from a CFD app to inject this prompt. A possible solution could be using the Call Control API to listen to call events, and when you detect an outbound call, you could barge in and play a prompt from a CFD app. This is quite challenging....

In the past you could barge into the call using a CFD. This is no longer possible in 3CX V20. Now the extension must have barge permissions and you cannot give barge permissions to an IVR or Call Flow designer.

You could use a CFD to play the prompt for inbound calls, but that may be overkill. You could route a call to a IVR that plays the prompt and then forwards to the destination without human action.

A 3rd option would be to use our 3CX Recording Beep application. It does as @edossantos_sipcaller suggests, however, rather than using a CFD to barge in, we use a custom user extension that CAN be given barge permissions and will detect a new call inbound or outbound and will barge in and play the message. It can play the message one time only, or can "beep" every 15 seconds.
