Hi All saw this suggested from 2017, last post was 2020, i guess this got nowhere.
unless anyone know if this can be disabled in v20?
got an issue with multiple location sites (people pressing * in voicemail boxes and getting sent to another location that should not get that call.
if it cannot be disabled can the default wav file be overwritten without a restart, and is its location the same from v16/18 /20
thanks

You can disable outgoing calls from mailboxes. The Wav file can be changed from the webinterface or by telefon.

Hi Bitn2
thank you for your reply if its the tick box in options under system it is not ticked already but still seems to forward the user anyway
thanks

We create a new Prompt set and then record over the message for that greeting. You can also change that destination * goes to by changing the Operator extension under the General Settings. I'll frequently send this to a dummy user that forwards back to the AA menu or main ring group

This is the one you want to update:
RECYAMSGrecord_your_message.wav"Record your message and press pound or press start to contact the operator". Inviting intonation.

One trick is to create a dummy user, set it as Operator extension, and make an exception in the user to forward all calls to your main IVR. This way, they'll just go back to the menu if they press *, instead of calling someone random.

Hello, You're right thats a workaround but when you need to replicate this on multiples install it's not so funny.
Today except perhaps in big companies who has an operator? surely nearly no one, so it could be a new process excluding that confusing option mostly for old people, those who have time to listen and slowly try :)
