transfer call between extensions

hi all,

simple question,

let say I have someone (external) calling in. the reception answer the call. the user want to talk to M. Bob. how does the receptionist transfer the call to extension 204?
is it like doing " *5 " and 204

is it possible with the free version ?

I can depend on the VoIP device you are using. Some phones have a transfer button, some just use a hook flash, some use a star code.

ok so the transfer is not done by 3CX system but by the phone itself ???

what if I use an ATA linksys pap2t with a standard analog phone ?

3CX does the transfer, but there are various ways to initiate the message to the PBX. With an ATA it is sometimes as simple as a hook flash, wait for dialtone, then dial the extension. Some ATA's have a list in the menu of custom calling features that you set to what you want. Did you look at the 3CX extension manual...www.3cx.com/manual/3CXExtensionmanual6.pdf

no I did not look at the manual. I will do.

I connected to my pap2t ATA and found the fallowing in regional settings:
Blind Transfer Code: *98

so I guess that if I press *98, 204 I will have my curent call transfered to the extension 204 ?

*98 does not seems to work at all...

and I also tried the 3cx assistant. but can get it connected :cry:
at home I have only one extension (201) that is a analog phone with an ATA (linksys pap2t)
I tried to the 3cx assistant with my extension 201 and I have a time out error after a 1-2 minutes

is the 3cx assistant works with the free version of 3cx ?

this is how to set the 3cx and pap2t to do call transfer.

but still... how do I set the assistant ? and is it working with 3cx free edition ?
