So far, the 3cx integration with MS Teams has gone beautifully, (day 3 company wide use) The only thing we can't seem to do in MS Teams is to transfer a call to voicemail (*4Extension). We can transfer to the extension by the extension number but as soon as the * is entered the transfer option goes away in MS Teams. Is there something i need to add or configuration tweaked? Thank you

Hi!

Who are you trying to Blind Transfer to *4<Ext Number>, is the Caller an External Number coming in via a SIP Trunk, another 3CX Extension that has been synced with Teams, or a Teams users that is not synced with 3CX?

Thank you for your reply.
yes, it will be an outside number. It's for the receptionist that if the 3CX auto attendant, caller presses zero..... it goes to the receptionist and she can handles the caller. she can, inside of MS teams, transfer the call to a 3CX extension without issue but to transfer the call to that extensions voicemail by adding *4 to the extension number then the transfer button in MS Teams goes away as soon as the * is keyed in. All the extensions are sync'd with Microsoft 365 and licensed with the phone standard license

oh and yes the user (all users) in the 3cx dashboard show under synced with show "Microsoft 365 + Teams"

This is what I noticed as well. Technically from a Team perspective, transferring to another Extension e.g. 100, or transferring to a VMail of an Extension e.g. *4100 should be the same, for some reason though Teams does not "like" the * symbol.

What you could do to work around this Teams limitation is to create a "dummy" extension, in the "Mobile" field put *4<Ext Number> and in the "Available" forwarding rule enable "Ring Mobile Simultaneously". Now you should be able to Blind Transfer to the Ext of the "dummy" extension, which will in turn send the calls to the VMail of the Ext you set.

Thanks again, i'll try that until teams or 3cx has a better solution.
