I have two site bridge. I can dial from site1 to site2 extension fine and site2 to site1 extension fine.

But the issues i'm having is. on site1. i go menu -> directory -> local directory = all blank
menu -> directory -> remote phone book = only this site extensions

how can i get site2 exntesion on site1?

Also is it possible to rename local directory to say site1 and site2?

Hi Song,

The bridge allows calls across the 2 sites, but it will not populate the extensions of the other side into your phones, this is not something that we support nor are there any plans to add this functionality.

You can however, see all the remote side extensions if you use our webclient. If you edit your bridge settings, you will find the Presence tab which allows you to publish your extensions to the other PBX, and to also receive info about their extensions.

So this will only with webclient? Is there a way I can manually add in the extension in there? I'm thinking this directly listing is just a phone book correct?

Think of it this way:

- A deskphone receives its phonebook directly from the PBX provisioning server
- A different PBX is not the provisioning server for that phone
- Hence the phone cannot receive the extensions of the other PBX

Webclient is different because it uses 3CX Presence, something that phones don't have - only the 3CX clients have this feature.

There is one option you do have: manually add the extensions of the other PBX in your 3CX phonebook via
Management Console > Advanced > Contacts

You need to use a prefix for the other PBX though, and ensure the entries have that prefix to avoid any conflicts with your existing PBX.

This should work ok without any modifications, and you will have to update it manually from time to time as extensions change across the two systems.
