Hi,

This morning, I encountered an issue with not being able to login to 3CX console due to too many attempts, but my attempted login is the 1st time I tried logging today, and the last time I logged in was last night around 6pm.

Is there any 3CX log file I can check to view the attempted logins to 3CX console?

Log onto the console from another wan address.

Couple of ways

On the first screen in the PBX Status , click on 'Blacklisted IP's' - this will show you the IPs that are currently blacklisted

Search in the Event log for blacklisted (Events icon), you may have to click on load more (bottom right)

Hello @Readyspace

Please note that you may have been blacklisted also if a device on the same location was trying to authenticate to the PBX unsuccessfully. If this was the case then you would receive the failed authentication message the first time you attempted to login. I would recommend adding your IP to the PBX whitelist to avoid this issue from reoccurring

Question: Please explain what is the correct setting so that external caller can leave a voicemail for the IVR routed extension?

We noticed that when an internal call (ie, between one extension to another extension) is made, and if the called extension does not respond, the caller is able to leave a voicemail for the called person.

However, when an external call (ie, from customer) is made, and the IVR is able to route to the required extension, and if the called extension does not respond, the caller is able to hear the standard default voice prompt to leave a voicemail but such voicemail is not recorded even if the caller has pressed #.

If the callers reaches the extensions voicemail then they should be able to leave a voicemail. Make sure that the call is routed to the correct voicemail box. Are you getting an error when trying to leave a voicemail?
Do DTMF tones work from your trunk? If the call is connected to ta digital receptionist can you select an option correctly ?

Hi,

Here are our responses:

Q: Are you getting an error when trying to leave a voicemail?

A: There was no error message when leaving a voicemail. The default voice prompt ended with “….press #...” and was duly done, but voicemail was not saved.

Q: Do DTMF tones work from your trunk?

A: (1) we are using CalnCall services as recommended by Readyspace, so could you check with them?

(2) As stated in our email earlier, when an internal extension dials another internal extension, and when we “…press #”, the voice message gets saved, and there is no problem. Does this mean that DTMF tones work?

Q: If the call is connected to a digital receptionist can you select an option correctly?

A: Yes, the call routed by IVR can be answered by the called person. The issue is that if the called person does not answer the call, and the caller leaves a voicemail, this voicemail is not recorded.

However, when an external call (ie, from customer) is made, and the IVR is able to route to the required extension, and if the called extension does not respond, the caller is able to hear the standard default voice prompt to leave a voicemail but such voicemail is not recorded even if the caller has pressed #.

I would confirm, with the 3CX Activity Log, that the caller is routing to the voicemail box you think it is. I suspect it may not be.

Hi,

This is screenshot (below) from log yesterday, which shows call made to IVR, when caller press 2, and routed to Extension 0005, who intentionally did not answer so that voicemail could be initiated VMail 0005, but 3CX mobile did not show that a voicemail has been recorded.

Can you also advice where are voicemails located in the 3CX server?

Voicemails are saved in C:\ProgramData\3CX\Instance1\Data\Ivr\Voicemail\Extensions for windows.
For linux /var/lib/3cxpbx/Instance1/Data/Ivr/Voicemail/Extensions

Try one more test please and let me know if that worked or note. Make an inbound call and let it reach the voicemail of the extension. Leave a message and hang up without pressing "#" or "0".
Does that work?

What are your settings for Email Options within the Extension -> Voicemail

@YiannisH_3CX , This test (Leave a message and hang up without pressing "#" or "0") works in recording the voicemail.

However, this creates a new issue in how do we replace this standard prompt with one that does not say “press # or 0”? Is there a way to edit this voice prompt or replace it?

Since voicemail works when you do not press any keys i would assume that the issue has to do with DTMF tones not registering properly from the trunk. With that in mind i would recommend creating a ticket with our support department as they will need to go through a capture and the PBX logs to determine that cause of the issue
