I have set up a 3cx free tier account but I am unable to make outbound calls to any other number other than extensions. I have set up a 3cx account with an attached sipgate trunking SIP trunk (I know this isnt officially support but its my one of preference) and inbound calls work perfectly, but when I make an outbound call I get the error "Call forbidden by administrator". I have reached out to sipgate themselves and they say they cant see any call coming through, which leaves me to believe something is blocking it in my 3CX system. How can I fix this?

Check the activity log to see why the call isn't allowed. There are many possible causes.

Either a suitable outbound rule is missing, the SIP trunk doesn't allow outbound calls or this option is set

and so on ...

Hello,

The user account trying to make the outbound call is able to make calls and has that option disables (allowing outbound calls). Nothing shows up in event logs but in reporting, it shows as route disabled. Why would that be? Below you can find some ss that might be of use.

I'm having the exact same issue. After looking through every permission set on the user side as well as our outbound rules, nothing works.

Whenever I try to make a call outside of our organisation, I get the call forbidden by administrator error.

Unfortunately, you don't have as many troubleshooting options as you would with a full-fledged commercial 3CX.

But it works and isn't complicated.
Use a supported provider, create at least one appropriate outbound rule and you're good to go.

What kind of provider is used and what outbound rules have been set up?

We both use sipgate trunking, because of its specific feature set that we need, and we have configured outbound rules, but 3cx just says no route available, even when using an outbound rule, which should forward all outbound calls through the sip.

I also have a single sipgate number (no trunk) and use it occasionally for testing, including with a 3CX SMB. All I can say is that it works here. Even if I use the UK Fuse 2 template.

I think it is important to use the correct main trunk number in the SIP trunk and use the SIP ID as outgoing number in the outgoing rule.
