Hello everyone,
I'm facing an issue with provisioning my Yealink IP phones on the 3CX free version. Here are the details:
  • Devices: Yealink T53W and Yealink T42G
  • Network: My internet connection is working fine, and I can connect the phones to other providers directly via their SIP accounts without any problems.
  • Issue: When I try to provision these phones with 3CX (both auto-provisioning and manual provisioning), I keep getting a "Registration Failed" error. This happens consistently, regardless of the method.
Has anyone else experienced similar issues with Yealink phones and 3CX free? Any advice or troubleshooting steps would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you!

I have registered the T53W and it works fine, but I have two T40GB phones and I cannot do anything to connect them via the T53W as a router phone. It comes up with 'registration failed' when I try to manually provision. When I try to provision through 3CX, I get told that 'the MAC is registered to another enterprise'. I messaged Yealink to ask them to release the MACs (which they did from their end) but I end up with the same issue (these are reconditioned phones).

Where is your pbx installed? If in the cloud, you need an sbc.

When a device has been registered through the RPS account of another "company" it would have to be released either by them or Yealink before being provisioned under the 3CX RPS account.

Otherwise there would be a ton of phone hijackings happening.

Within 3CX, you can easily remove a phone from the RPS by just deleting it from one PBX before adding it to another.

It's the free 3CX instance hosted by 3CX. I understood that I either needed an SBC or I needed one phone set up as a router phone (which then provides that service).

The T53W can be used as a router phone. Just select "Connect Directly" when defining it in the users phone tab.

Yealink got back to me and told me that they had released the MACs from their end.

I set up the T53W that way, and it reports itself in 3CX as being set up as a router phone. So I'm pretty sure that the T53W is set up right (and it appears to be working in all respects - making and receiving calls and messages etc...).

You have a different problem and hijacked this thread. Thats not really helpfull.

The OP asked if anyone had experienced a similar problem (repeated registration failure of a T4 series phone - which I had). So I was sympathizing. I then just answered questions that people asked. I certainly did not mean to hijack the thread. I have no idea what my problem is - just that my T40GB will not register and I've tried repeatedly.
