Use of 3CX as simple registrar

Just a quick question: is it possible to use 3CX PABX as a simple SIP registrar, and not as a media server?
I would like (for test purposes) to establish direct RTP connection between two SIP phones, without using the PABX functionality of 3CX sw. In this way I could test different codecs (G729 and others).

You can do it for simple calls from extension to extension, if both of them are not bounded to media server in advanced options. Mind, that on-hold and call transfer functionality will require media server anyway. To be sure that MS is not used you may stop its service manually.
