Currently I am testing each 3CX feature and I was thinking if it is possible to use my own landline telephone number on 3CX without using SIP Trunks.

Is this possible?

I was reading similar 3CX Forum "Connecting my landline to the phone system" but I believe is not the same that I am searching for.

Thanks,
Glenn

You would have to have a PSTN gateway. There are a number that are supported by 3CX, however many support more that one line and may be overkill.

To avoid issues, you would also have to be hosting 3CX at the same location that the gateway would be used, or connect using VPN.

For a single line, you might seek out a Linksys/Cisco SPA-3000, or SPA-3102. Both are considered obsolete, and are not officially supported by 3CX, but can sometimes be found used, online, at a low price. They would require manual configuration.

If you choose to go that route, post back for help in setting it up.

Correct me if I am wrong, but in order to have a PSTN gateway I would still need the Main Trunk No which is provided from SIP protocol, right?

At this point I still need to switch my landline to SIP, in order to have PSTN gateway?

No if you have a PSTN line which has a telephone number associated with it , you analog FXO device - as per info above

This converts the analogue pstn line to sip protocol that 3CX understands.

You do not have to switch your landline to sip.

The main issue in having one PSTN line, you are limited to having one external call at a time. Where sip trunks you can have multiply channels (which you pay for) so you can have more than one external call at one time

I am also in a similar situaton I have two phone lines in a very small remote office, If I can get a SPA-3102 to work I would be more than happy. Though not supported, can one be functional with V18?

It is a standard SIP device. I have not heard of a reason it would not work. However, since you are putting in two lines, you might look for a larger 2 or 4 line, supported, used, gateway, it may be more economical in the end.
