V18.0.1.11 Screen locked, calls comes in, device in pocket: distance sensor not active?

With this version (I did not try the non beta), If my phone is locked, it is possible that an incoming call is answered inside the pocket.
I would expect that inside the pocket the distance sensor will prohibit an unwillingly call pickup.
When I simulate it I can see the screen stays lit when a call comes in even when I hold my hand over the sceeen. The distance sensor works however, since, when I am in a call the screen will be blanked/deactivated.

Device: unihertz titanpocket, Android 11, Stock Firmware 4,14.186-g7

Is this a new Bug?

If you have another app, for instance WhatsApp, it has the same behavior on your device?

Sorry, I dont use whatsapp, but:
I found out later that the behaviour is (I also told this in the chat with Giannosi) different:
It is correct that the display will not go dark when a call comes in and the device is locked and in the pocket.
However, when I tried while holding my hand over the distance sensor to answer the call by pressing the green button, I was not able to answer it. So it seems the program works like it should even if the screen is active.
Still I had several calls answered in my pocket - this is strange and I have no idea why.
