Hi,
Following this guide https://www.3cx.com/blog/voip-howto/qos-linux/ but doesnt work for v20 Debian 12.
IPtables persistent missing from the Debian.
Anyone have any ideas how we can set this up for v20 Debian 12?
spoke to 3cx who provide the doc , unable to help as no newer(V20) doc available.

FWIW we set up QoS at the router...prioritizing UDP to/from the 3CX server IP.

Hi,

That blog was for 3CX V16. There are online guides of how to do it on Debian 12, and it's not much different than the blog, but as it's been mentioned doing the QoS on the switch/router is probably a better way to go about it.

Thanks for the reply- I queried this with 3CX support and Bruno stated "The mentioned document is still relevant." Why is the doc still on your website? anyway , on our own finding a v12 Debian version - don't need to be done on the router as this is for internal traffic so just the lan, switches have been setup to honor the dscp markings.. if you have a v12 Debian doc please share. this was all set to be done this week with the customer- didn't look great when we failed straight away..

Why it's there, it's a blog meant to provide some general information, valid at the time of publication. The methodology it covers still stands, the Debian commands you need to run have changed in default Debian installs.

Regarding current implementation (which is not all that new, it's a v15 feature originally), for supported phones in the phone options at the bottom you have VLAN tagging and VLAN priority tagging:



This lets you set QoS tags from within the PBX, not needing to go down to OS level for it.
